Age Concern held their annual Summer Fair on Saturday 22^nd June at their Day Centre and grounds at Calle Paganini, La Siesta.

  People thronged from far and wide to attend this summer event and enjoyed browsing the many stalls, taking part in the activities or simply just relaxing in the summer sun with a nice cup of tea and muffin.  Everyone was royally entertained by the  Alpengold Oompah Band who, dressed in traditional German costumes, got their audience singing along as their talented brass section played popular melodies.  Following on were the renowned Harmonisers.  This huge group of male melody makers sang out loud and clear, with gusto,  all the favourite songs familiar with barbershop traditions.  Both sets of entertainers made a good day great and Age Concern thank them warmly for volunteering to come along and providing such a delightful couple of hours of music.  Age Concern raised staggering 2517.45 euros and all the money raised goes straight into maintaining and upkeep of the Day Centre, providing beneficiaries with daily activities, keeping the two vehicles running along with ensuring all the valuable services  and mobility aids are in ship shape order ready for the vulnerable and our aged population to take advantage of whenever needed.

A special thank you must go to all our volunteers who gave so much of their time to make sure cakes were baked, prizes and bottles donated, stalls were manned and everything in place to make this Summer Fair a success
